SMOKY MAMA'S KITTENS - It's a Catastrophe!
66Smoky's kittens at almost 4 weeks
A Joy to Behold
Little Ms. Smoky Mama and her kittens are doing so very well. With no cares and all needs taken care of, this sweet and delicate cat is able to concentrate all her time and energy on the rearing of her beautiful brood. Each and every day, I can see measurable changes; they're growing so rapidly and their individual personalities are emerging. When I enter their 'chambers,' little furry balls with huge eyes climb up my legs and meow for my attention. The kittens are very well adjusted and extremely happy. Just a few days ago, I noticed that they are beginning to eat solid, 'big kitty' food. They scramble over one another in efforts to reach the shallow plate that holds tiny morsels of tasty treats.
While I was away for a 6 day period that ended late last Tuesday, the 18th of October, it seemed that the kittens had doubled in size during my absence. Now, little legs are longer, eyes bright and alert and they exhibit curiosity about everything.
Tumbling, rolling and froliking; these little things are a huge source of pleasure. More to come as they continue to change and grow.

up and across! they are so adorable! they bring back memories. i just moved my brood to their new quarters in the old trailer that has the run attached to it. for a whole 2 days i actually considered finding homes for them. but it tore me up so bad i just could not do it. i kept telling myself do what was best for the kittens...and in the end i realized keeping them was what was best for them. when i moved them to the new room, the terror that Alvin experienced showed me i was right. yet as soon as he saw i was still there and so were his siblings he quickly calmed down. they have adjusted well and are happy. They are almost 5 months old and never been away from each other. to separate them would be so cruel. i am so happy you are able to keep your little family together. thank you for all the love and care you give your furry babies.
Great read and your photos gave a tug of heart. They are all beautiful. up and awesome great Kitty-Mommy.
There is nothing as great as a home full of Kittens! They do grow so fast. Good luck to you and Smokey Mama.
Our 15 year old cat has suddenly gone about 90% blind. He seems to be able to discern light from dark, but that's about it. The vet says it could be one of a dozen things, but the outlook is not good, and he's old, so we are going to let nature take its course.
He's still content to eat and lay in someone's lap, so he's OK for now.
I remember when he was just a kitten like your babies!
Ok , so I hit all the buttons , I am not sure yet how it happened , but in life I have become spellbound by my animals , a chocolate lab , a golden retreiver , and a cat that looks like a spotted milk cow. Named 'Spot'! Glad all is well and what a wonder of living things that pets are !...Be well Lucky Cats !
This is sooooo beautiful, Luckycats! I just love those little kittens. With a wonderful home, like yours, everything must be heaven for these beautiful little creatures. You are the best, my friend!
Is Smoky Mama a particular breed of cat? I just ask because she has a jet black coat with golden eyes. Beautiful. Love the pictures of the cats. I've never had one because of allergies, but love watching them play and interact. My brother adopted one, and I didn't get sick once when I was visiting. Maybe my allergy has gone? Awesome hub, can't wait for you to come back!
Hi, Oh my God, how cute are they? every time I read one of your hubs I want to come over and sweep them all up, put them in the car and escape! lol lovely!
Cute kittens are you planning on keeping them or finding homes for them?
Just a delight!
Oh Kathy you've done it again you amazing person! I only have to read one of your wonderful hubs and look at those beautiful kitties and the world is a again a much brighter place!
I'm amazed at the kittens, not only by their beauty, but how different their markings and colours are - they are genuinely stunning! But then their beauty is no mystery at all, we only have to look at their gorgeous mum - Smoky is one cat in a million!
Muffin and Pancake are adorable and very, very beautiful! I'm afraid I have the same notions as Nell - I too want to scoop them all up - trouble is, I'd need an airplane instead of a car!
Voted up + awesome + beautiful!!!
Fabulous pictures. Great to hear that everyone s is healthy and happy!
It is so good to see life as it should be. Beautiful, contented, well fed, happy, playful and serene. Thank you for the breath of fresh air; always a welcome respite, dear Kathy.
It is so nice to share the growing up of these adorable kittens so thank you for that. Our local vet gave us a cat the cat had been taken in abandoned at 2 weeks old. we fed ger with a bottle and she grew fine but was only small not receiving the proper mothers milk that they need. When she had a litter we kept her daughter who literally grew to twice her size. She was a great Mum and it was fascinating to watch her teach her daughter how to stalk and do do kitty things, but the funniest was always the clip around the ear she would give her. That always brought a smile to my face.
You are a great mum to these lovely little creatures and they are so lucky to have you.
Oh they are adorable, i'll take the little white one...Cheers
I also second AE I need a little sister for my six year old Sabrina, she is lonely. I think it's about time for an addition. Can you package her up safely, and ship her off to me. I will pay you whatever you ask, within reason of course:0))) oh how sweet of you.....heck there are so many kittens and adult cats in my city, I am tripping all over them. What's going on, why are people abandoning them like that, how sad. Thank goodness we have kindness like us and you to help protect and care for them.
I just love how much you love your cats and kittens. And I love that you share this part of your life with us. Voted up, up and away!
They all look so different . . . and like brothers and sisters, they are all developing their own personalities. Fun hub. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Dear Kathy,
Your update and comments are absolutely beautiful. Smoky is so lovely and her little fur 'ballettes' are following suit!
Voted UP & FAB!
Go easy on yourself. We all know you are busy, mar.
The most adorable kittens..... and don“t cats make wonderful mums?
I want them all Kathy ~ so adorable. I'm very behind on my reading, they all must be so much bigger by now. Love the updates.

Awesome! I would love to have cats again, but where we live right now, we are allowed one pet...and Frankie the Wonder Dog is that pet...
Up until she passed away, my mom lived on farm in the middle of nowhere and animals were continually dumped near her home....at one time she had over thirty cats (some with kittens) and four or five dogs...and she loved each and every one of them...after she passed, the cats just disappeared - and there is only one dog left...but she she is a pretty spoiled dog!

A "Cat"astrophe? haha. I love following your rescue adventures. Those kittens are so adorable and fluffy. Frolic is the perfect word to describe what kittens do. Thanks for the update. Several votes and up on this one! See you soon!
